SMILE Project

SMILE Project

The SMILE – SRHRC Mental Health Initiative for Life Empowerment is a community mental health programme by Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre, initiated under the guidance of Gurudevshri Rakeshji and supported by the Indira Foundation. The initiative aims to address the growing need for accessible mental health care in rural communities.

Launched in August 2024 with field implementation from November 2024, the programme conducts door-to-door awareness, screening, counselling, and treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression, epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and psychosis, with follow-up care at the hospital.

A program is one of a kind focusing on holistic Maternal Mental health at the hospital. Here it supports women during pregnancy and early motherhood by promoting awareness, reducing stigma, providing screening and counselling for timely care and return to healthier and more empowered lives. We also provide antenatal and postnatal support group sessions as well as physical therapy.
